Shaw Built Inc. is a full-service design-build construction company based in Santa Cruz, California, serving homeowners throughout the county with custom remodels, new home construction, and accessory dwelling units (ADUs). Whether we’re updating a single room or managing a ground-up build, we approach each project with the same dedication to craftsmanship, communication, and integrity.

Our founder, Luke Shaw, began his career at the bottom rung of the ladder—quite literally—working as a labourer in the UK. Over the past two decades, he’s built everything from slate roofs in Yorkshire to public parks in Sydney, and from custom interiors in New York to multi-family renovations across the Bay Area. This global perspective and hands-on expertise are the foundation of Shaw Built.

At Shaw Built, we bring together a team WITH experTICE in residential and light commercial construction. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality results, using modern tools, trusted methods, and an organised, transparent process from start to finish.
